Userless devices can be employed for the following purposes:
Basic functionality (emergency and attendant calls).
Hot Desk login.
Hot Desk ACD Agent login.
Since a userless device is not assigned to a particular user, it does not consume an IP User License.
Any device that supports hot desk login can be programmed as a userless device with the exception of the following: Mitel 5560 IPT, Mitel Unified Communicator, and CITELlink devices.
To program userless devices:
Go to the User
and Services Configuration form.
Click Add > Default User and Device.
Clear the Hot Desking User check box.
Set Service Level to IP Device Only.
Enter Personal Information, Service Profile, Device Details, and Service Details for the device.
NOTE: The Directory Number and Device Type field are mandatory. The Device Type must be for a device that supports hot desk login.
Click Save.
